With the health care bill off the legislative agenda, the US Senate will be turning its attention back to the Climate and Energy legislation. Late last year, the Kerry-Boxer bill (S. 1733) was introduced, but got tabled while the health care debate raged.
Now, John Kerry, Joe Liebermann and Lindsay Graham are working together on putting out legislation that is scaled-back from the prior Senate bill, but that still may regulate HFC's used in fire suppression. Rumor has it that the bill will be unveiled next week, and the Democratic leadership in the Senate is working on getting to a vote before July 4.
We will keep you posted as to the details when the news comes out.
